Program Goals
The overall goal of our Mobile Art Therapy Program is to connect our community through art therapy and provide art therapy for those that have no access to art therapy or mental health care in the Aurora area, reaching out to our marginalized and lower socioeconomic status populations.

Our mobile art therapy unit travels around the Aurora area and provides art therapy programming onsite at our partner organizations. Our art therapy unit consists of our Executive Director, clinical interns, contractual art therapists and volunteers.  Partners include like minded organizations that need art therapy provided for their clients, patients, students and/or staff members but do not have access to art therapy.

Depending upon the needs of our partner organization, the space available, clients and their needs, we are able to provide individual or group art therapy onsite at our partner organization. Both The Light of The Heart and our partner organization meet and agree upon the parameters for providing art therapy programming onsite at partner organization prior to the start of the program.

 Objectives
The objectives of  the Mobile Art Therapy Program include the following:

1. To provide a safe and encouraging environment for individuals to uncover the light of their hearts through the creative process of art making with master-level art therapists.

2. To provide a safe and encouraging environment for individuals to create artwork with master-level art therapists that fosters healing and growth.

3. To provide a safe and encouraging environment for individuals to create artwork with master-level art therapists that fosters an increase in self-esteem, self-awareness and self-love.

4. To provide a safe and encouraging environment for individuals to create artwork with master-level art therapists that creates connections internally and externally to peers, teachers, colleagues, families, neighborhoods, communities and the entire City of Aurora through the creative process of art making.
